Feared in the witching hour, sacred and revered in the ancient halls of Egyptian folklore, and an entrée for the Australian aboriginal, this darn cat has made an impact on the precarious order that we call nature. Written, directed, and narrated by filmmaker Allison Argo, this documentary from National Geographic poses some valid questions concerning the domestic kitty and its role in the wild. A “tomcat” with an overdeveloped urge for mating, and a renegade tabby that might be responsible for a substantial decline in wildlife, keep the viewer chasing the tail of the mysterious feline and the secrets it keeps.
